Expatriation and French school: how to help children (re)find their bearings at school?
Dear families,
Arriving in a new country, or returning to France after an expatriation, is quite an upheaval for families.
But for the children, it's above all an academic and linguistic challenge.
Many find themselves faced with :
-
a weak foundation in French, maths or listening comprehension,
-
difficulties in keeping up with the pace of French schooling,
-
loss of confidence or mental fatigue linked to change.
️ For non-French-speaking or partially-French-speaking children, FLE (Français Langue Étrangère) is becoming a priority, as conventional "school" methods are often too abstract.
My method? Simple, practical and adapted to everyday life:
✔️ Learn French through real-life situations: introducing yourself, shopping, asking a question at school, understanding instructions...
✔️ Reinforce the fundamentals (reading, writing, counting) with visual tools, games, oral expression and logical reference points.
✔️ Set up short but regular learning routines to make progress without overload.
✔️ Helping parents to support their children without stress.
The aim is to regain fluency, find new bearings and enjoy learning.
Each child has his or her own story, his or her own rhythm. My role is to adapt the approach to their needs, without pressure, but with a clear direction.
I am a facilitator, school & family coach, language trainer (FLE), and I accompany expatriate families before departure, on arrival or on return.
Would you like to find out more or ask me a question about your situation?
Let's talk - there's no obligation.
See you soon on your way to a balanced family life ;)
