How can I learn effectively? It's a question that often comes up, because we all want to make progress in our learning, whatever it may be. But often, the personal method we use is inadequate.
Hello everyone,
Today, I'd like to share an experience I had with a learner. Finding one's own method is sometimes difficult, because the tendency is to spread oneself too thinly. What's going on inside us and how do we manage to focus on the essentials, stick to them and self-discipline when we have trouble concentrating and are very demanding of ourselves?
We're too often in the "doing" mode, i.e. in action, and we try to fill our schedules as best we can to satisfy ourselves and think that this will be the key to efficiency. But we're missing something essential if we're to establish consistency in our learning.
Here's 1 key:
- Sit down and think about your way of being, not your way of doing. It's all about your posture. Indeed, good posture is acquired by thinking positively and being aware of being in the present moment. Our thoughts are constantly wandering towards the future or the past. We forget to simply be. This is how we succeed in focusing on what's essential, so that we can see our actions through to the end with consistency, confidence and clarity.
If we don't, we spread ourselves too thin, rehash what we've failed to do, project ourselves with inordinate expectations, lose motivation and give up.
The key, as you've understood, is to accept our imperfection, to savour every moment, setting milestones that commit us to full awareness and respect for our own pace of progress. Our learning objectives must be fair and respectful of our essential needs. What do you think?
Ready to learn and succeed?
See you soon,
Anne Laure
